Heat Recovery Ventilation
Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) systems are energy recovery ventilation systems used to reduce heating and cooling costs and demands of buildings and help in conserving energy. With a heat recovery ventilation system, buildings can usually recover around 60 to 90 percent of the heat in air from exhaust systems, thus improving their energy efficiency. Heat Recovery Ventilation systems can be installed in new homes as they’re being built, or added during a major renovation. Modern Air & Water offers purchase and installation of all Lennox and Goodman brands, being an authorized dealer, and can provide service and maintenance for all brands of HRV systems.

While it’s possible to retrofit Heat Recovery Ventilation systems into existing homes and buildings, they won’t operate to maximum efficiency as they can’t be connected to bathroom vents without a major renovation or work in the property. Installing HRVs requires some changes to how exhaust systems in your property work, such as connecting the bathroom fan exhaust to this system instead of being vented directly outside. This is why we advise our clients to get HRV systems installed only when some major renovations are going on, or if a new building is under construction.
